Hi All

I would like to know if there is a way to back up the archive.ost or any other .pst file in Outlook 2010 to somewhere on the network/external storage,,,
What I would like to do is to create a scheduled task that automatically backs up my .pst file on a different location over the network. Is there a feature in outlook 2010 that perform this? Or maybe through a script or windows schedule tasks?
What is the easiest way to perform this?
Appreciate your help

I use Cobian backup. It is not limited to pst file, but a powerful backup program.

It can start as service and you can schedule its operations.
Since it uses Shadow Copy Service, you can copy locked files

The simplest way is to put a Windows Task Scheduler task to run a batch script that can be a .bat file like this:

This is how I do it.

2:
@echo off
copy "D:UserNameMailArchive*.pst" "E:BackupMailArchive"

Cobian is freeware.
Older version are even open source, but anyway you can use the last version that is freeware

Perhaps beyond your question but:

I use No Hands Backup at $16.  It runs on the "file server".

Then, for each client needing backup, I work first to get all the files needing backup in one folder (with subfolders of course).  Then just back up that one folder, .pst file and all.  You just need to make sure the .pst file is in there with everything else.

Sometimes I map the backup folders as drive letters on the "file server".  Then, if the locations change, one can just change the map and keep the drive letter the same.

You can have a look to product of http://www.addonmail.com
BackupMyFolder! is a freeware that allow you backup PST files inside default profile
PSTStation Corporate is a corporate product that allow to backup PSt files on your network.

For these two products, the backup can be done even if Outlook is running (and the PST locked), and the backup is incremental at message level, only new messages are copied !

Thanks you all for great solutions - I'm still testing each to see what works best for me.
