My original DC Adapter for ASUS G50 was broken. I’ve got Universal DC Adapter. Original one has 19.5V output, Universal has 19 and 20. What should I set for Universal adapter – 19 or 20V ?

I would recommend sticking with the original 19V to eliminate any issues.

You'll be just fine with the replacement, the tolerances are more than acceptable - .5 volts I would start with 19V see if it charges battery as normal.

Laptops can generally tolerate 10% variance in voltages, and either setting should be within tolerances.  However, the other important thing you need to check is the output current - if it's less than the original design, don't use it, or you will risk drawing more current than the adapter can provide, and it will overheat.

Best bet is just stick with the original specs of the power adapter.  The specs on your original adapter are 19v 6.32a 120w.

Thank you, everybody. Just want to clarify the specs: 19.5V 7.7A.
