Hello,

I am in need of some help. I am going to be switching hosting from SBS 2003 to hosting from Hostgator.  We are using Remote Web Workplace and we would still like to use that. We also are running Exchange Server 2003 that comes with SBS 2003 and would like the e-mail to still function through the server.  My guess is I might be able to setup a CNAME for server.mydomain.com to point to the server for the Remote Web Workplace from Hostgator, but am not sure how to do that.  I’m also not sure how to setup the MX records to point back to the SBS 2003 server.  It's currently using the dyndns to point to the server and Networksolutions as the registrar.  Any help or guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

open up your Domain CP and put the HostGator DNS Servers there
Then open up HostGatoer hosting control panel Go to DNS Management
Note :- Basic record are automatically setup when we buy hosting from hostgator or any hosting service provider so you don' t need to create A record for your website.
Just create the following record for remote web worplace
Server.yourdomain.com and point it to your SBS 2003 ( A record)
Remove already created MX and Create a new record for your owa i.e
owa.yourdomain.com and point it to your SBS2003 (A record)
create new mx record and point them to owa.yourdomain.com (MX record)

You can also open a ticket with these details with hostgator and I believe they will do it for you.
Hope it will solve out your issue.

Thanks for your quick response and help on this. We won't have the website running for atleast a month so I won't be able to test until then, but I trust what you say will work.  Only other thing I was wondering, and this may not be a typical setup.  The way the exchange is setup is server.mydomain.com as the exchange server address. (it's also the remote web workplace address) I tried testing owa.mydomain.com at the https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ and it failed, but it works with server.mydomain.com that's how our mobile phones are setup to get mail and it works fine with that.  So I assume I'll just setup the (MX record) to point to server.mydomain.com  Is what I assume corrent?  Thanks again!
