Hi experts,
Its kind of generic question. Can somebody explain if its possible to reduce native memory used by JVM. I have couple of environments where the native memory used is quite a bit.. around 500Mb or more. Any tool that I could use to find out native memory leak? Thanks
I am using WebSphere 7
AIX 6.1

Thanks HonorGod, I guess, we can look into thread dumps to see how much native memory is being used. That is much easier then analyzing the heap.

Does anybody know if the native memory footprints can be reduced? if yes, please explain. Thanks

Q: Can native memory footprints can be reduced?
A: Yes... but...

Finding the users of native memory can be a lengthy process, as there is no way of knowing which code allocated the native memory. There are no comparable heapdumps for native memory, so we have to use trial and error, going through each of the potential native memory users until we find the one that is causing the problem.
