All,

I work primarily with Oracle and create many SQL reports for our business that they like to have in Excel format. While Excel is not my first choice the business loves the ability to have an easy to understand format.

To that point I have a requirement to create a map, with pushpins, of addresses using the data from my SQL. I was speaking to an analyst and she states that they manually use Microsoft MapPoint right now. Does anyone else have history using other programs or better alternatives that might be more robust with Excel to produce a report with the mapping of addresses?

Do you have access to the NavTeq database (or others) that convert a street address to the X-Y coordinates (GeoCoding)?

What is our budget?  Oracle has a 'free' MapViewer.  I used air quotes becuase you need an Oracle Spatial license.
