Is it possible to map a drive on an iPad 2 in some way?  I have network resources I would like to obtain, and I was curious if it is possible?

Thanks, that app is brilliant.  I just bought it now, though I think they only thing missing the ability to play avi files over my network.  I have PDF's and mp4 files that are now sorted, just the AVI files that I can't do with FileBrowser.  I wonder if there are any ipad video apps that play avi files off a network?

I haven't installed it yet, but my searching has brought up AirVideo as a possibility.  I wish there was a try-before-buy option with a lot of these apps :)

You can try AirVideo by using AirVideo Free (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/air-video-free-watch-your/id313056918?mt=8)
The only limitation of the free version is that it only shows the first 2 or 3 files that are in your AirVideo Server directory.
I can recommend AirVideo. I use it frequently and it works very smooth. And it supports subtitles!

Btw, another option to "make files available to your iPad" is using DropBox and their free DropBox app.

Thanks for the comments.  Basically the solutions will allow for everything except the AVI issue over a mapped drive network.  So almost but not complete, though certainly the solutions do make a big difference.  Thanks.

I didn't try it myself yet but (I will certainly do) you should definitely try "Awesome Reader HD" (free for 3 days)

Looks very promising and capable.
