I'm new to MATLAB. Version 7.8.0 (R2009a) came installed on this machine. When I start MATLAB, I get a ton of warning messages in the command window:

and it goes on like that for about 100 lines. What are these warnings about? What is causing them? How do I get rid of them? Is it trying to run something? I checked the run command is simply:

"C:Program FilesMATLABR2009ainmatlab.exe"

so nothing specified in the startup command for it to run something.

It look like your version of MATLAB is for different Windows Version.

The structure
C:\Documents and Settings\Percival\My Documents\

Is specific for specific Windows Version - it does not exists on Windows 7.

You can try to create
C:\Documents and Settings\Percival\My Documents\MATLAB\
and copy there referenced files from where they are now.

Those messages means that user with Windows login name Percival previously used MATLAB on your machine and set many directories under his/her user path in global MATLAB path.
Run MATLAB. Go to File - Set Path, find and remove all links to directories under C:\Documents and Settings\Percival\ and Save. Try to restart MATLAB and see if all warnings are gone. Let me know if not.

There is a Percival username. Not sure if he's system administrator or just leftover from previous user of this computer. Anyway problem cleared. Thanks.
