Clicky

OK, this error is really pissing me off.  I have googled and tried different things until my eyes hurt.  I am ready to get this Microsoft crap to work for this customer.  When they open a document, they get the You cannot close MS word, because a dialog box is open error.  I am not trying to close it, I am trying to open the dang thing!  There is no dialog box open.  When I click OK, I get "there is not enough memory to complete this action".  There is plenty of disk space and plenty of RAM.  This is a brand new PC.  I have completely uninstalled Office 2010 Home and student and reinstalled after running ccleaner to clear out the registry.  I have tried renaming the normal.dot file (which the one I found was called normal.dotm).  I am at my witts end with this thing.

Please Help!!

After my irate post, I got to thinking about AV.  I disabled the Comodo AV Pro and then uninstalled Office, rebooted, reinstalled Office and "so far" it seems to be working.  Will further test with AV reenabled and see.

Forgot to mention, this is an HP pavilion dv7, brand new running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I tested with Comodo AV turned off and it worked.  Rebooted the system which turned Comodo back on.  this time I get the error again.  Tells me I need to do some kind of exception in Comodo.  Any ideas?

Try running it in safe mode.

It may possibly be an add-in or template.

Running it in safe mode will turn them off .

And Also Check disk.

This one was tricky and is still somewhat bothersome, but I at least now know it is to do with Comodo IS Pro and the defense+ monitor.  Thanks everyone!
