Clicky

Hi all,

I'm working with a Plesk Panel trial and I am loving it so far, but I have an issue and I really want to try to get it resolved this weekend but "trial support" doesn't work weekends so hopefully one of you know the answer.

We use Joomla 1.5/1.6/1.7. The only version Plesk has built in and available is 1.7. I went to Appstandard.org, downloaded and installed the 1.5 and 1.6 versions into "My App Vault" but they are not showing up for me to use. I've clicked 'make available' but still nothing. Any ideas?

Linux CENTOS6 Plesk Panel.

Thanks all!

There are many security issues with old Joomla versions.  If at all possible, AVOID using Joomla 1.5 and 1.6 with Plesk.

Unfortunately we have to offer them since a large part of our base uses 1.6. At least right now. Do you know what could be causing the templates to not show up?

Hi,

Thanks for the links but what are they for? I already have Plesk installed and already have the Joomla packages downloaded and installed in Plesk. I'm not following what the first two are for. I'm assuming the last one is to show me other people have had issues as well?

Thanks

Hi,

I would recommend you to download and install Joomla manually to your plesk server. Its not that much difficult. Just download the required Joomla version and upload it your webroot directory using a FTP client like Filezilla. Now unzip the contents and install by accessing it using the web browser.

eg: if you have a domain named test.com and you have uploaded the joomla directory with the name joomla, you can complete the installation at the url http://test.com/joomla

Cheers !!!
