Clicky

I have a test bench setup in which I am attemting to create 2 vlans (3500yl HP).

I'm using DHCP relay w/ MS DHCP server.

Typical config I've tried:

ip routing
vlan 20
untagged 5,6
ip address 192.168.20.1/24
ip helper-address 192.168.10.10
vlan 10
untagged 17-20
ip address 192.168.10.1/24 (restricted 192.168.10.1-25)
ip helper-address 192.168.10.10
write mem

So.....
I can reach the web server on the DHCP server x.x.10.10

But I want to put other servers (file server) on the Vlan 10 lan. No joy!

I can't seem to see the web servers or files on any other server on the vlan 10 lan.

What am I missing?

Thanx-----

Do the VLAN 20 hosts have their default-gateway set to 192.168.20.1?

The DHCP sets the respective gateways - thus Vlan 20 = 192.168.20.1

Is this right?

(thanks for the prompt reply)

Yep.

What ports are the VLAN 20 hosts connected to and what ports are the servers connected to?

Vlan 20 client connects to port 5
Vlan 10 server connects to port 17 (IP 192.168.10.106)

The Vlan 10 client is actually a cable modem and I'm trying to reach it's web based config page.

Does the cable modem have a route to the 192.168.20.0 network?

No - that's (I guess) is what I don't understand.

Would that be:

ip route 0.0.0.0/0 192.168.20.0    ?

Your help is appreciated.

This route has to go on the cable modem. Not the switch.
