I was having some problems with an 1801 cisco router. I replaced it with an 1841 router. I configured it the same. I have internet access now but when I look at the interfaces, I see "Unknown Protocols Drops" increasing on my Fa0/1 interface along with some interface resets. I attached the old and new configs as well as a screenshot of the show interface. Is my config off somewhere? The ios on the old router was ADVIPSERVICESK9-M. The new one has ADVSECURITYK9-M

Hi

I can't see the attachments for some reason but a common cause of Uknown Protocols is if you have CDP turned off on your interface but it is recieving them from other sources.

Thanks

Which I do. Let me turn it on. But my culprit seemd to be DTP. Once I set i to nonnegoiate on the switchport it was connected to the errors stopped incrementing.
