So when my friend texting me from iphone and ipad the texts show up as two separate strings.  One from the iPhone and another from iPad associated with her yahoo email address.  I have address the yahoo email address into the contact and still comes as two separate string of messages.  Same names though.
Is there a way to consolidate or this is normal and should work like that?
Thanks.

So on your iphone it is as if it's 2 different persons/devices are sending you messages ?

Are you also on iOS5 ?

Are all message balloons in blue on your device from her both devices ? And did she setup both devices on the same account ?

For this to work both her iphone and ipad must be assosciated to the same email account.

(that way when you reply the message will be viewable both on her ipad and iphone).

I think I understand the reason.  When on iPhone iMessage comes through cellular data.  When on iPad the iMessage comes via WiFi.  iPhone's iMessage still works even when WiFi is not available.  I was wondering how, but found out that it still goes through data, although uses minuscle data, so not considered/charged as text data.

Neverless I still belive it should come to one point regardless of the delivery method.

Thoughts?

My thoughts ?

Apple released this a bit too early, I guess the little things like this will get sorted in a next version.

HOpefully they will be.  I have one friend on iphone that don't use iMessage (green baloons) when no WiFi.  Another friend does thought (blue baloons) when no Wifi also.  Weird.
