Our designers are using the DWG-to-PDF print driver integrated in AutoCAD 2011 to create multi-layer PDF files from our DWG. It is awesome for our clients when the document is presented on a screen but we are having problems printing from those PDF files.

Here the symptoms:
When we try to print a PDF created using DWG-to-PDF we are having the following errors one after another:
  • The document could not be printed
  • There were no pages selected to print
  • A drawing error occurred

I’ve tested it with Adobe Reader 9.4, Adobe Reader X, and Adobe Acrobat 9.3. They either give those errors or just crash when printing.

I’ve also tried to create a PDF file without using multi-layer option in DWG-to-PDF with the same result. So, it is not that multi-layer function.

However, we do not have problems when the PDF files are created with Adobe PDF printer or CutePDF.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause the problem?

You may want to check the settings under the PLOTTER MANAGER and see if the settings can be tweaked.

Yes, I found the source of the problem.

I have to select Font Handling to Capture all: As Geometry in the properties of DWG To PDF.pc3 file.

I've found the solution minutes after posting the question before receiving any possible solutions.

Thanks anyway
