I added an WD250GB HD to retrieve some files from it.  The bios recognizes it, but my Vista 32bit does not.  The file sytem on the HD is NTFS 32 bit.  I tried to force an Add Hardware, but this could not recognize it either.  Any ideas?

Boot the PC with the PartedMagic LiveCD and run testdisk. With it you may be able to copy the data to some other Location:

You could also install getdataback on your PC and then use that to scan the HD. If it sees your files register the utility so you can copy the data off:

can you go to the device manager and see the HD there ? are the drivers correctly installed ?
some HD have "jumpers" that depending on the situation, they will work as a master HD or slave, check the jumpers on your HD.
