Good morning.

I konw it's Thanksgiving, but I was hoping someone would be up and about that could help me with this.

There are two softwares I am trying to install and I get the same window each time, shown.  They are Vipre AV and Symantec System Recovery 2011.  The programs act like they're going to install; but, they get to a certain point and the window pops up.  I'm unsure how to repair the installer.  I have not tried to install any other software.

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried right clicking on the install file and selecting "run as administrator"? Though you are logged in as an admin, this gives you additional elevated privileges.

Anymore thoughts on the installer issue?  Sorry.  Just now getting the opportunity to get back to the posts.

Or is there a better way of posting this so that it gets in the correct area or am I in the correct area for this type of issue?

I am not at all familiar with this issue. If you try to install one of the apps, it fails, you get the popup, are there any issues logged in the event viewer at that time? Most likely in the Application log.

I'm horrible at reading logs or knowing where to find them.  I'm showing more and more how green I am at this.  Where would I look for installer failures in the logs.  I went to Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, applications and Services Logs.  From there, i'm lost.

You are in the right place. Just look through the log for red errors and if related to your problem post the "event ID" and "source". If you re-run the problematic install at least you will know the time frame in which to look.

I restarted the server and applications began to install correctly.  Thanks!
